Compress all traphic in tor network in bZip 2 format
Hi
Can you please add a compression functionality to Tor network that all clients and servers compress their data packages in bZip2 format. This will be not only a revolution in tor project but a revolution in Internet too. This will increase overall tor network speed 2 to 4 times faster and it will reduce overall network traphic as well.
I know some computer programming. I will be happy to help you add this functionality to Tor Network.
Finally sorry for my bad english.
Thanks.

Is there a tor forum somewhere? If there is, please tell me the adress. I've heard that encryption on websites can by pass the browser and reveal information about users.

Any anonomous proxies compatible with TOR?
I have the newest vidalia bundle. The privoxy displays random ip locations when I blog on my news site but I'd rather it be blank, or anonymous.
Is there any software of this sort that is compatible with TOR?
Would I be able to simply uninstall privoxy and still use the rest of the bundle?
You can't be on the internet
You can't be on the internet and NOT have an IP address. Tor just changes the IP you appear to be coming from to an exit node
And yes, you can use Tor and Vidalia without privoxy. Polipo is a fine alternative.
Or you can download the Tor Browser Bundle and have a pre-configured firefox/tor/polipo.
Stealth project I am considering
How feasible would it be to use TOR to remotely control a computer and have that computer use TOR to access sites anonymousely?

am having trouble with the
am having trouble with the update in ubuntu. I get an error message about a lock file that it cannot open. New to Linux and the instructions are not exactly clear. Help would be appreciated.
1. I opened terminal and ran the instructions for adding gpg key. That seemed to work ok. Then refreshed my sources (i.e. closed and reopened the sources file). Then restarted terminal and typed the 'apt-get update' command with this result:
E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (13: Permission denied)
E: Unable to lock the list directory
stuck at this point.
I have installed
I have installed squid+privoxy with tor on my computer. Everything seems to be running fine beside the speed. But that is the downside of running tor. I have a question. Is it possible to configure privoxy and or tor to not show up as a proxy server?
Here is my situation. I live outside of the USA and I would like to listen to the radio stations online. However, FCC restrict access to listen to online radio. Now if this is the case, shouldn't it pertain to ALL radio stations? I am able to listen to some of the radio stations but not all.
Since my ip shows up in USA by the exiting node, I can theoretically listen to the stations, but it is still detecting that I am outside of the USA but the ip that shows up is in USA. I am guessing that their software is detecting that I am using a proxy server and that prevents me from accessing the stations online.
