Announcing the vastly improved Tor Weather!

The new weather incorporates many new features designed to make it far more useful to relay operators new and old.

The new Tor Weather now checks the current consensus and can notify the relay operators if:

  • their node is offline for a specified period of time,
  • their node has been seeing very little usage,
  • their node's Tor version is out of date,
  • and if they've passed the threshold to receive a free Tor t-shirt.

This complete re-write and enhancement of Tor Weather was done by Professor Danner's students during their summer The Humanitarian Free and Open Source Software at Wesleyan University course. Thanks to Jeff, Kate, and Michael for designing, coding, and testing this new Tor Weather release. Thanks to our own Kaner for mentoring the students and integrating their changes into the infrastructure.

1) This comment is unrelated to the post, because after spending over an HOUR looking I cannot find or obtain access (no clue what the admin password is to even access the post function) to the proper TRAC forum to post a bug report. Someone should make accessing the bug reports a little easier.

2) The bug report I want to make is in regard to apparent exit-node filtering blocking english.aljazeera.com so I can't read the news there through tor. The site is accessible directly, but not through tor.

My server is in the Tor status list, but TorWeather keeps telling me the fingerprint does not exist, hence I can not register.

There is an easy answer to this question: Yes, your needs are different, but not night-and-day different. If you haven't figured it out already, you just need to make some tweaks to what you're eating and drinking. Let's start with hydration. You need fluid for everything, especially to keep your cells and systems humming along and to cool you off and help regulate your temperature.
